6/3/08 New Suspected Spinal Injury Protocols

The State Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (SEMAC) has developed a new protocol for suspected spinal injury. This protocol was approved by the State Emergency Services Council (SEMSCO).  The transition from the current spinal protocol to the new protocol includes an education component. Before an EMS Agency can begin using the new protocol all of their EMT-B and AEMT personnel must receive the training.

All training must be completed by December 31, 2008.
