HVREMS CONTACT INFORMATION For information regarding agencies and EMS programs within the Hudson Valley Region (Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster or Sullivan counties), please contact:
CREDENTIALING All EMT-P and EMT-I providers working in EMS systems in the Westchester Region must be credentialed by the Westchester REMAC. See the Credentialing page for more information. On May 1, 2002, Westchester assumed oversight of its own regional EMS providers from the Hudson Valley Region. Since then, all EMT-I’s and EMT-P’s employed by an emergency medical service in the Westchester Region have received credentialing from the Westchester REMAC. In order to have retained credentialing by the Hudson Valley REMAC (HVREMAC) following the transition in May 2002, an advanced EMT must have been employed by an EMS agency holding an operating certificate within the remaining counties in the Hudson Valley Region. Personnel from Westchester services not documented as affiliated with a Hudson Valley Regional EMS (HVREMS) agency were dropped from its rolls. The HVREMAC, as per its Medical Control Plan, relied on the ALS agencies in its area to inform the regional office of the names of the EMT’s continuing to work for those services. Any ALS provider who maintained continual employment within the Hudson Valley and was incorrectly dropped from HVREMAC credentialing should contact his or her employer. In order to be reinstated, a letter from the HVREMS ALS service attesting to the ALS provider’s uninterrupted association with that agency must be forwarded to the HVREMS office. Any additional questions regarding the credentialing of EMS providers in the Hudson Valley Region should be directed to:
